Employee Feature- Leah Callahan
In May of 2001, Leah completed her undergraduate studies with a B.A. in Mass Communications and Sociology at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR. Her education and passion for all forms of communication, including newswriting, marketing and advertising, has been a building block in all of her professional careers, beginning in Law Enforcement and now, currently, in the Insurance Industry. She has served at IGO since 2007 as General Manager running day-to-day operations, including Marketing and Agent Liaison, as well as being a Licensed Life and Health Insurance Agent.
“Insurance salespeople sometimes have a negative stereotype. It’s been my mission since I’ve been a part of the family of IGO to represent insurance in a way that I’d want to hear it. I’ve always wanted to take this confusing thing called “insurance” and make it really “work” for people–if you don’t understand what you’ve purchased, then it won’t go to work for you, and that’s never a position I want any of my clients to be in. At IGO, we do business the personal way, the relationship way….building trust between us is our first step, problem-solving is our second.”
Leah calls Nixa, MO her home, though she is originally from Houston, TX. She is married and has three children. Her hobbies include watching NFL football, playing volleyball and kayaking, and though few and far-between, traveling with her husband.
