“Your Summer Bucket List”

Summer is here! We just skipped right past Spring and we find ourselves in near 90 degree temps one day, storms the next! For most local kids…school has now wrapped up and you might know that it takes less than a week out of school for them to begin to feel stir crazy. There are so many things to do with kids or teens…even as an adult during the summer to relax, unwind, and focus on family.  Check out some of the bucket list items below, sorted by age, for some awesome ways to beat the boredom!

Under 12:

  • Check out the local library for a summer reading contest
  • Picnic/play in the park
  • Shaving cream fight
  • Water balloon fight
  • Kid’s service project (help clean up the yard for an elderly couple in your church or neighbor)
  • Go bowling
  • Zoo
  • Sidewalk chalk masterpieces

Tween-Teens:

  • Wash car in swimsuits
  • Make a dessert and share with neighbors or friends
  • Swim at 5 different area pools
  • Take a challenging bike ride, with a packed lunch
  • Photo scavenger hunt (either in the neighborhood, downtown area, park, etc.)
  • Paint your own pottery
  • Fireworks
  • Sand volleyball at the local park

Adults/Parents:

  • Family bonfire with outdoor movie and smores
  • Visit a local fair/carnival at a town you’ve never visited
  • Pick berries/fruit at a local orchard
  • Take the family mini-golfing
  • Make a Game Night with pizza and friends
  • Go to a local outdoor concert
  • Update a room
